    Video clipping workflows directly from AI assistants

    Disclosure: I'm the developer behind Katto. I built this MCP server to make video clipping accessible directly from AI assistants, without having to switch back and forth between a chat and a video editing dashboard. It supports submitting videos, tracking processing jobs, retrieving scored vertical clips with captions, and managing follow-up actions. OAuth authentication and asynchronous processing are important parts of the workflow. There's still room to improve, particularly around difficult framing situations and clip selection. But the goal is to make video repurposing something an AI assistant can actually handle, not just explain how to do.

  • What users say

    Reviews from people signed in with GitHub, who say what they built and what broke. One review per person per server, editable, never bought.

  • What the scan finds

    An independent scanner checks code, auth, reliability and tool descriptions on every release, and publishes the full report. A grade can be lost.

  • How much it is used

    Stars, downloads, release cadence and whether the endpoint answers right now, combined into one adoption score you can sort on.

Nothing here is for sale. There is no sponsored placement, no pay-to-rank, and a vendor cannot remove a review or a finding about their own server.

What is an MCP server?
A program that gives an AI agent tools: read a database, search the web, send an email, run a browser. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard for how the agent and the server talk, so one server works in Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, ChatGPT and the rest.
How do I install an MCP server?
Every listing here has the exact config for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and VS Code. Local servers run on your machine with npx or uvx; remote servers are a URL you paste in. The client guides cover each client's config file.
Are MCP servers safe?
Not all of them. We scan every release against a public rubric (code patterns, tool descriptions, auth, maintenance, identity, uptime) and publish the grade and the evidence. 48,273 of 48,273 listings are graded so far. Read the scan before you give a server write access.
What is the difference between an MCP server and an API?
An API is for programmers; an MCP server wraps one for an AI agent, describing each tool in plain language so the model can decide when to call it. Most MCP servers are thin layers over an existing API.
Which MCP server should I use?
Sort by what matters to you. The grade says whether it is safe, the rating says whether people who ran it liked it, and adoption (stars, downloads, uptime) says whether it is maintained. Alternatives pages compare servers for the same job.
What is the difference between MCP servers and agent skills?
A server is running code the agent calls. A skill is a folder of instructions (a SKILL.md) the agent reads. Skills are cheaper and easier to write; servers can do things instructions cannot. We scan both.
Can I list my own MCP server?
Yes. Publish it to the official MCP registry and it appears here within a day and gets scanned. Or use List your server in the footer for anything not in the registry.
