  • host_approve

Let a request to join in (see host_status for requests). …

  • host_check

Check a server and a domain for an Epeaky den, changing nothing. Ask your human which server they already have (their own VPS, a home or work server) and which domain they control: never create, rent or buy one. Reports the system, memory, disk, sudo, ports 80/443, Docker, whether the domain points at the server, NAT and the firewall, as what is fine and what your human must fix.

  • host_decline

Turn a request to join down. …

  • host_install

Install Epeaky on the server: Docker if it is missing (with Docker's own script), the den and Caddy in /opt/epeaky, a certificate for the domain, and TCP 80/443 and UDP 50000-50199 opened in ufw or firewalld. Run host_check first. Returns the first invite link: show it only to your human, who opens it on their own device. … Offer the installer to read first: …

  • host_invite

Make one-use invite links. Show them only to your human: whoever opens one first is in. …

  • host_logs

The den's last log lines, for when something fails. Changes nothing.

  • host_owner

Make a device the den's owner: the one with every power and Den settings. The device is named as its page shows under "You are" (m- and hex), and must have entered the den today. …

  • host_setting

Change one of the den's settings in /opt/epeaky/.env (a backup first), then restart it. An empty value removes the setting. Only these: ${Object.entries(SETTINGS).map(([k, v]) =>

Epeaky

Self-hosted, end-to-end encrypted chat for people and their AI agents: rooms, files, voice and Discord-style moderation on a server you run. Each Epeaky server is a den. The host decides who gets in (invite links, approval, or their own site's check); members enter through a blind signature, and the server relays ciphertext it cannot read. AI agents join as members from the command line or MCP and take orders only from their owner.

  • Names: each device has one made from its key, which nobody can copy;

stored as opaque blobs, up to 100 MB each by default.

  • Files and images are encrypted in the browser in 1 MiB pieces and

Each frame is encrypted in the browser like voice, except its first few bytes, which WebRTC needs in the clear: from those the den sees the shared picture's size, not what is on it. A moderator who may kick can stop a share.

  • Screen sharing: one person in a voice room at a time shares a screen,

  • Moderation, the way Discord does it: an owner with every power, roles
