Premiere Pro MCP Server tools (94, 17 write)
write = sends, deletes, buys or postsRead from the package source without running it. The installed server may list more.
add_keyframesAnimate an effect parameter on a clip: turn animation on and add keyframes at times (seconds, as list_clip_effects reports keyframe times) with values and optional interpolation. Keyframes are one undo step, interpolation a second
add_markerAdd a marker to a sequence or a clip project item at a time, with a name, type, duration, comments and colour. The colour is a second undo step
add_transitionAdd a video transition (by match name, from list_available_effects) at the start, end or both ends of video clips, with a duration and optionally single-sided, or replace the transition already there. One undo step
adjust_clip_audioChange audio clips' volume by a number of decibels (Clip > Audio Options > Increase or Decrease Clip Volume; the Audio Clip Mixer's and Properties panel's volume), scaling every Level keyframe when the volume is animated, and set their pan or balance (the Panner's Balance, or Pan). Volume and pan are one undo step, keyframe interpolation a second
apply_effectApply an effect to clips: a video effect by match name or display name to video clips, an audio effect by display name to audio clips (names from list_available_effects). Appended to the end of the chain, or inserted at position. One undo step
clear_media_cachewrite actionDelete Premiere Pro's media cache files (Settings > Media Cache > Delete): conformed audio, peak files and indexes, which Premiere Pro rebuilds as needed. Premiere Pro 26.5 or later. The cache folder and automatic clean-up settings cannot be changed by script
close_projectClose the active project, or every open project (File > Close All Projects), without prompting. Unsaved changes are lost unless save is true
close_sequenceClose a sequence's Timeline panel (Premiere Pro 26.2 or later). The sequence stays in the project
control_source_monitorWork the Source Monitor: open a clip project item (optionally at a time), play it at a speed (Play-Stop Toggle; negative plays backward, as the J, K and L shuttle keys do), close the clip or every clip, report what is open, or Match Frame (Sequence > Match Frame: open the source of a sequence clip at the frame under the playhead). Positioning needs Premiere Pro 26.3 or later. Playback is the Sourc
copy_clip_effectsCopy a clip's effects to other clips of the same kind (Edit > Copy, then Paste Attributes): applied effects are added to each target with the source's values and keyframes; with intrinsic: true, Motion, Opacity, Time Remapping (video) or Volume, Channel Volume, Panner (audio) values are copied onto the targets' own. Keyframes keep their offset from the clip's In point. Up to three undo steps: addi
copy_keyframesCopy an effect parameter's keyframes (values and interpolation) to the same or another parameter on other clips or the same clip (Effect Controls, copy and paste keyframes). Times keep their offset from each clip's In point, plus offset. Keyframes are one undo step, interpolation a second
create_binwrite actionAdd a bin, or a search bin (File > New > Search Bin) that shows the items matching searchQuery, to the project root or inside another bin
create_projectwrite actionCreate a new project file (.prproj) and make it the active project: empty, or a copy of a template project (its bins, sequences and settings; the template file is not changed). Other open projects stay open
create_sequencewrite actionCreate a sequence: empty with the default settings, from a sequence preset (.sqpreset), or from clips (New Sequence From Clip: settings match the first clip and the clips are placed in order). Opens it in the Timeline unless open is false
create_subclipwrite actionMake a subclip of a clip project item (Clip > Make Subclip): a new project item limited to a range of the source, optionally restricted so it cannot be trimmed past it (Premiere Pro 26.3 or later). Returns the new item

delete_sequencewrite actionDelete a sequence from the project
duplicate_sequenceDuplicate a sequence (Sequence > Duplicate). The copy appears next to the original
edit_clipsTrim edits in the Timeline, each one undo step. slip: move the source in and out points of clips by the same amount, so they show other frames in the same place (Slip tool, Slip Clip Selection). roll: move the edit point between a clip and the next clip on its track (Rolling Edit tool; on an audio clip alone this makes a J or L cut). slide: move a clip between its neighbours, which are trimmed to
edit_markerChange a marker chosen by index (from list_markers) or guid: name, comments, type, duration, colour, or move it to a new start. One undo step
encode_mediaQueue a clip or sequence from the project, or a media file on disk, in Adobe Media Encoder with an encoder preset (.epr) (Export > Send to Media Encoder, or Media Encoder's queue). Whole item, its in to out, or (sequences) the work area; a file can be trimmed with inPoint and outPoint. Optionally starts the queue. Returns once the job is queued; wait_for_event with render_complete waits for it to
execute_premiere_codewrite actionRun your own UXP JavaScript in Premiere Pro, as the body of an async function with ppro (require("premierepro")) and transact(project, undoName, build) in scope; build(add) receives add(action) for each Action, created inside the project lock as Premiere Pro 26.3 requires. Return a JSON-friendly value. It runs unrestricted: it can change or delete anything. Prefer the specific tools
export_frameExport one frame of a sequence as an image (Export Frame): PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, DPX, GIF, EXR or TGA, chosen by the file extension. Size defaults to the sequence frame size
export_sequenceExport a sequence with an encoder preset (.epr) (File > Export > Media, or Quick Export): encode it now in Premiere Pro (the call waits; raise PREMIERE_SCRIPT_TIMEOUT_MS for long exports), or queue it in Adobe Media Encoder or Premiere Pro's own queue. The preset sets the format and every Export setting (video, encoding, keyframe distance, audio, captions, effects such as Image Overlay, metadata,
export_timelineExport a sequence's edit for another application: Final Cut Pro XML (.xml) or OpenTimelineIO (.otio), Premiere Pro 26.2 or later, or AAF (.aaf) with default options, 26.3 or later
export_transcriptRead a clip project item's transcript as JSON (the Text panel's transcript, with word timings). Returns it, or writes it to a .json file when outputFile is given
fade_clipsFade clips in and/or out with keyframes: video clips on Opacity (from 0 to their opacity), audio clips on the Volume effect's Level (from silence to their level), over the given seconds at the start and end of each clip (Effect Controls keyframes; a cross-fade transition is add_transition). One undo step
fit_clips_to_frameScale video clips so their frame fits the sequence frame (Clip > Video Options > Set to Frame Size), or fills it, by setting Motion > Scale without resampling. The source frame size comes from the project item's Video Info, or from sourceWidth and sourceHeight. Square pixels are assumed. One undo step

Edits and gaps are on every video and audio track unless track is given. Not an undo step
open_projectOpen a project file (.prproj) and make it the active project, with Premiere Pro's convert, locate-file and warning dialogs turned off unless showDialogs is true. Projects already open stay open
open_sequenceOpen a sequence in the Timeline and make it the active sequence
premiere_statusCheck the connection to Premiere Pro: the port the server listens on, whether the plugin is connected, Premiere Pro's version, and (with probe) the active project and sequence. Use this first when a call fails to connect
recover_projectRecover a project after a crash: list the copies in its Auto-Save folder (the Auto Save scratch disk, by default "Adobe Premiere Pro Auto-Save" beside the project), newest first, and with open: true open the newest (or a chosen one) as a separate project, with Premiere Pro's dialogs turned off. The original project file is not changed
relink_mediaPoint clips at different media files (File > Link Media, Clip > Replace Footage) without the Link Media or Where Is the File dialogs: one clip to newPath, or every offline clip (or the items given) to the file of the same name found in searchFolders. Not undoable
remove_clipswrite actionRemove clips from the sequence (Clear), or close the gap they leave with ripple: true (Ripple Delete). One undo step
remove_effectwrite actionRemove an applied effect from clips, by component index (from list_clip_effects). One undo step
remove_keyframeswrite actionRemove keyframes from an effect parameter on a clip: at given times, in a time range, or all of them (turns animation off, keeping the value at the start). One undo step
remove_markerswrite actionRemove markers from a sequence or clip project item, chosen by index or guid, or all of them (optionally of one type). One undo step
remove_transitionwrite actionRemove the video transition at the start, end or both ends of video clips. One undo step

reveal_media_fileShow a clip's media file in Finder or File Explorer (Reveal in Finder, Reveal in Explorer). Returns the path
revert_projectDiscard the active project's unsaved changes by reopening its last saved version (File > Revert), with Premiere Pro's dialogs off
run_scene_edit_detectionwrite actionAnalyse clips for cuts in their footage (Clip > Scene Edit Detection, without the dialog) and add an edit, a clip marker or a subclip at each cut. Runs on the given clips or the Timeline selection; the selection is replaced by those clips. Analysis can continue after the call returns: waitSeconds waits for it
save_projectSave the active project, or save it as a new .prproj (File > Save As: the project then refers to the new file, not the original)
scale_to_frame_sizeTurn on Scale to Frame Size for clip project items (Clip > Video Options > Scale to Frame Size): clips placed from them afterwards are resampled to the sequence frame size. Clips already in a sequence are not changed; fit_clips_to_frame sets their scale. One undo step

Returns the selected clips. Not an undo st
set_clip_input_lutSet the Input LUT override of clip project items (Clip > Modify > Input LUT), which converts the footage before any grading: a LUT id, or the override (or embedded LUT) another clip uses. Returns each clip's override and embedded LUT ids before and after. One undo step
set_clip_propertiesRename clips in the Timeline, or enable or disable them (Clip > Enable). One undo step
set_clip_transformSet video clips' built-in Motion (or Vector Motion, for graphics) and Opacity settings (Effect Controls): position, scale, rotation, anchor point, anti-flicker, opacity and blend mode, for placing and compositing clips over the tracks below. Values are in the units list_clip_effects reports. An animated setting is refused unless clearKeyframes is true. One undo step
set_clip_volumeSet the Level of audio clips' built-in Volume effect. Premiere Pro stores Level as a linear amplitude, not decibels; read the current value with list_clip_effects first and scale it. Turns off Level keyframes. One undo step
set_effect_paramSet an effect parameter on clips to one value (not animated). An animated parameter keeps its keyframes unless clearKeyframes is true. Values: numbers, text, true/false, points { x, y }, colours { red, green, blue, alpha } from 0 to 1. One undo step
set_lumetri_colorGrade video clips with Lumetri Color (Window > Lumetri Color): set Basic Correction (Input LUT, white balance, tone), Creative (Look, intensity, faded film, vibrance, tints), Color Wheels & Match, HSL Secondary corrections and Vignette settings by their display names, or any Lumetri parameter by index. Adds a Lumetri Color effect to clips that have none. Values as list_clip_effects reports them. O

set_project_media_settingsTurn ingest on or off (File > Project Settings > Ingest Settings), choose scratch disk folders (Scratch Disks), and pause or resume refreshing growing files. Settings are one undo step; pausing growing files is not undoable
set_sequence_propertiesStore or clear custom properties on a sequence: named text, number or true/false values a script keeps with it, carried into FCP XML exports. One undo step
set_sequence_settingsChange a sequence's settings: frame size, frame rate (Premiere Pro 26.2 or later), pixel aspect ratio, fields, editing mode, display formats, audio sample rate, preview file format, codec and size, maximum bit depth and render quality, linear-colour compositing. Values as get_sequence_settings reports them. One undo step
set_sequence_timesSet a sequence's in and out points, zero point (start time), work area (Premiere Pro 26.5 or later) and playhead position. Times are seconds. In, out and zero point are one undo step; the playhead and work area are not undoable
set_source_in_outSet or clear the in and out points of clip project items, as marking them in the Source Monitor does (Markers > Mark In, Mark Out, Clear In and Out). Used to choose the part of a clip to edit in, or to line up camera angles for synchronising. One undo step
set_track_propertiesMute or unmute a track (Toggle Track Output for video), or rename it (Premiere Pro 26.3 or later). Muting is not an undo step
transcribe_clipTranscribe a clip project item's audio with Speech to Text (Premiere Pro 26.5 or later). Needs the language pack Premiere Pro uses; waits until the transcript is done, so raise PREMIERE_SCRIPT_TIMEOUT_MS for long clips
trim_clipTrim a clip: set its source in and out points, or its start and end in the sequence (seconds). One undo step
wait_for_eventWait until Premiere Pro reports an event (script events), or until the timeout: a project opening, closing, changing, being activated or its Project panel selection changing; a sequence being activated, closed or its selection changing; a Media Encoder job being queued, progressing, completing, failing or being cancelled; an export or import finishing. Returns whether it happened and the event's d

What the publisher says
From the Premiere Pro MCP Server repository's README, as published. We do not edit it. Read it on GitHub
adobe-mcp
MCP servers for Adobe applications. Install one application's server on its own, or the suite: one server for every application, with tools that work across them.
The InDesign server was published as indesign-mcp-server up to 2.3.0. It is now adobe-mcp-indesign, with the same tools; replace the package name in your client configuration.
Each server runs on the machine where the Adobe application is installed and talks to it through ExtendScript, the scripting interface the applications ship with. Premiere Pro has no outside scripting route, so its server talks to a UXP plugin inside Premiere Pro instead. macOS and Windows are supported.
The servers also support corresponding ArtCraft applications:
- PhotoCraft for Photoshop (PHOTOCRAFTCONTROLPORT, default 7878)
- VectorCraft for Illustrator (VECTORCRAFTCONTROLPORT, default 7979)
- DesignCraft for InDesign (DESIGNCRAFTCONTROLPORT, default 7979)
- EffectCraft for After Effects (EFFECTCRAFTCONTROLPORT, default 9877)
- FilmCraft for Premiere Pro (FILMCRAFTCONTROLPORT, default 9876)
When an ArtCraft application is running or explicitly configured via TARGET=craft or TARGET=craft (e.g. PHOTOSHOPTARGET=craft, DESIGNCRAFT_TARGET=craft), compatible tools route transparently to ArtCraft over its loopback JSON-lines control channel.
