Sendblue Browser tools (13, 1 write)

write = sends, deletes, buys or posts

Read from the package source without running it. The installed server may list more.

  • close_session

Close the session and delete its on-disk profile.

  • create_sessionwrite action

Create a new browser session. persistent=true follows the daemon default and backs to an on-disk profile that survives restarts but does NOT expose a CDP url; set persistent=false for CDP attach. The response includes autoNavScreenshots so clients know whether navigate writes background evidence.

  • get_cdp_url

Return the CDP websocket URL and targetId for a non-persistent session so a Playwright/Puppeteer client can connectOverCDP() and select the session page. Persistent sessions return 409.

  • get_console

Read recent console messages from the session's page (ring buffer).

  • get_cookies

Read cookies from the session's context. Optional comma-separated URL filter.

  • get_session

Inspect a session — current page URL/title, console message count, CDP url, and whether automatic nav screenshots are enabled.

  • health

Check if the sendblue-browser-use daemon is reachable. Returns service metadata, active session count, and navScreenshotPolicy. No auth used (the /health endpoint is public).

  • list_sessions

List every active browser session on the daemon.

  • navigate

Navigate the session's page to a URL. http(s) only; file:// and chrome:// are rejected. waitUntil defaults to 'domcontentloaded'. Only sessions with autoNavScreenshots=true write background evidence; call screenshot after headed navigation when you need evidence.

  • purge_session

Clear cookies and permissions context-wide, then current open page/origin localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, ServiceWorkers, CacheStorage, and console buffer — but keep the session id. Does NOT delete the on-disk profile or enumerate every historical origin.

  • screenshot

Take a PNG screenshot of the session's page. Returns an MCP image block. Optional CSS selector to capture a specific element; selector waits up to 5s. Use after headed navigation because headed sessions usually skip automatic nav screenshots to avoid flicker.

  • script

Evaluate a JavaScript expression in the session's page context. EXPRESSION form only — wrap statements in an IIFE. 422 if the eval throws. Body cap 200 kB. timeoutMs defaults to 30000; pass 0 to disable.

  • set_cookies

Inject cookies. Each cookie needs name+value plus EITHER url OR (domain AND path).

What the publisher says

From the Sendblue Browser repository's README, as published. We do not edit it. Read it on GitHub

sendblue-browser-use

A standalone debug browser for agents. Stealth-patched Chromium behind a tiny HTTP API, with persistent named sessions, an easy purge endpoint, configurable auto screenshots, and CDP attach so any client (Playwright, Puppeteer, undetected-chromedriver, custom scripts) can drive it.

It runs as its own process — not tied to any one Claude / Cursor / Codex session — so multiple agents can share it concurrently, debug each other's flows, and reuse a logged-in session without paying the auth tax every run.

Why this exists

Quick start (local)

Prereqs: Bun >=1.3 and Node.js >=20 on your PATH.

git clone https://github.com/sendblue-api/sendblue-browser-use.git
cd sendblue-browser-use
bun install
bun --bun x patchright install chromium

cp .env.example .env
# generate and set the required token
TOKEN="$(openssl rand -hex 32)"
sed -i.bak "s/^BROWSER_USE_API_KEY=.*/BROWSER_USE_API_KEY=$TOKEN/" .env
rm .env.bak

bun run dev

Then in another terminal:

source .env
TOKEN="Authorization: Bearer $BROWSER_USE_API_KEY"

# 1. create a persistent session (log in here once, reuse it forever)
curl -s -X POST http://127.0.0.1:8787/sessions \
  -H "$TOKEN" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"name":"qa","persistent":true}'

# 2. navigate
curl -s -X POST http://127.0.0.1:8787/sessions/qa/navigate \
  -H "$TOKEN" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"url":"https://trybloom.so/"}'

# 3. screenshot
curl -s http://127.0.0.1:8787/sessions/qa/screenshot?fullPage=true \
  -H "$TOKEN" -o /tmp/qa.png

# 4. wipe state without losing the session
curl -s -X POST http://127.0.0.1:8787/sessions/qa/purge -H "$TOKEN"

Quick start (Docker)

echo "BROWSER_USE_API_KEY=$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d

Same API, exposed on 127.0.0.1:8787. Data persists in ./data/. CDP stays loopback-only inside the container by default; to attach CDP from the host, uncomment CDP_BIND and the 127.0.0.1:9222:9222 port mapping in docker-compose.yml on a trusted machine only.

Install into your agent

The repo ships three packaging layers so any agent can drive the daemon with one line of config.

MCP (Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity, Cline, Windsurf)

The cross-agent path. Wraps the HTTP API as MCP tools (health, createsession, navigate, screenshot, script, getcdpurl, purgesession, etc).

Shortened. The full README is on GitHub.

Nothing above is checked by us. What we check is on the safety report.
