Why

• Spend far less of your Claude Code / Codex quota on the same work. The heavy part of a review or investigation — reading code, searching, cross-checking — runs on other providers. Your main agent only plans, waits and judges, and receives compact status and the final report, or just a file path.
• Put your other subscriptions to work. Free tiers and plans you already pay for (Gemini, Grok, GPT, DeepSeek…) usually sit half unused. Pi runs on all of them, so that capacity does real work instead of expiring.
• Other model families, other blind spots. Reviewers from one family tend to miss the same things. Send one diff to Gemini, Grok and GPT at once and compare.
• Built to finish. Every run has turn, time and tool-call budgets with a tool-free last turn for the answer; opt-in model fallback on provider errors; opt-in durable tasks that survive a restart.

Your main agent stays in charge: it plans, chooses models and judges the results.

Use Pi to review the attached diff with Gemini, Grok and GPT in parallel. Don't edit files. Report only real defects with file:line.

It calls spawn_batch with one prompt and three models, waits with wait, and returns three independent reports with token usage and cost. One provider down? With fallback configured, that review continues on another model in the same session.

Quick start

Requires macOS or Linux, Node.js 22.19+ and Pi. CI covers Pi 1.0.0, 1.0.4 and 1.1.0. Model calls use your own provider credentials.

1 · Install Pi (skip if you have it) and configure a provider:

2 · Install the bridge. The npm release (0.7.8) lags behind main; for everything below, install from source:

cd pi-durabletask-mcp && npm ci && npm run build

Or the npm release

npm install -g pi-durabletask-mcp

Then use pi-durabletask-mcp as the command below instead of node …/dist/index.js.

3 · Connect. Claude Code:

claude mcp add --scope user pi -- node /absolute/path/pi-durabletask-mcp/dist/index.js

Codex (~/.codex/config.toml):

4 · Try it: "Use Pi to check the auth module for missing permission checks. Read only." init shows your models and settings; models lists what each delegate may use.
