Migration Map tools (3)

write = sends, deletes, buys or posts

Read from the package source without running it. The installed server may list more.

  • compare_projects

Compare the migration numbering of two project paths: shared sequence numbers, which set tops out higher, whether the padding styles match and how many numbers are free in each. Counts and sequence numbers only.

  • inspect_migration_map

Find local migration numbering gaps and rollback pairing signals without returning SQL, paths, or migration names.

  • migration_ordering

Read a project's own migration numbers and report ordering advice: the next free number, gaps and whether they look like deletions, numbers reused across directories, and whether file-name order and numeric order disagree. Counts and sequence numbers only.

Install Migration Map in Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code

Runs npx -y migration-map-mcp on your machine. Read the scan report first; the gateway never runs local packages.

What the publisher says

From the Migration Map repository's README, as published. We do not edit it. Read it on GitHub

migration-map-mcp

Migration Map inspects migration filenames and reports numbering gaps, duplicates, and broad risk signals. It is useful before merging database changes when the migration directory has become hard to reason about.

Quick start

npm install
npm test
npm start

Call inspectmigrationmap with a project path inside MIGRATIONMAPROOT.

Privacy and limits

The server reads migration filenames only. It reports sequence gaps, duplicate numbers, and pairs a sequence when both a forward filename and a rollback-style filename are present. It does not read SQL, source content, migration names, or full paths. Naming conventions outside the recognized pattern may be missed.

Nothing above is checked by us. What we check is on the safety report.
