GreenCycle Compound Atlas tools (14)

write = sends, deletes, buys or posts
  • ask_atlasFree

Use first for a plain question such as "does CBD help epilepsy", "where does THC act" or "what binds TRPV1": finds the compounds, conditions and receptors the question names in the atlas and answers only from those records: the evidence grade, the key findings with PubMed identifiers, the atlas pages, a not medical advice line and cite_as (title, url, licence, accessed date). When the question names nothing the atlas holds, it says so and suggests the closest names and tools. Educational reference, not medical advice. No doses.

  • citeFree

A ready citation for one atlas record (compound, target or condition) or for the atlas as a whole: the canonical url, the citation line, a BibTeX entry, the version, the original papers to cite for its findings (PubMed links) and the licence (CC BY 4.0 with attribution).

  • compare_compoundsFree

Use for "THC versus CBD" and similar questions: two to four compounds side by side, target by target, with each action, evidence grade, measured binding values and PubMed identifiers, the targets they share and the atlas comparison page when one exists. Educational reference, not medical advice. Not a ranking of which is better for anyone.

  • fetchFree

The full text of one atlas record by the id that search returned ("compound:cbd", "target:CB1", "condition:epilepsy", "trial:NCT03883360", "cultivar:STRAIN0001"): what it is, the targets and effects with evidence grades, measured binding values, cautions, every source (PubMed ids with links) and the citation line, with the atlas url. Educational reference, not medical advice. No doses.

  • find_studiesFree

Use for "what is the evidence" and "which studies": the PubMed studies the atlas cites for a compound, a target, a condition or a compound at one target, each with its PubMed link, what it supports (an effect at a target, a binding value, a caution, a systematic review or a trial as administered) and the atlas record it belongs to, plus the PubMed search behind each record. Doses are left out on purpose. Educational reference, not medical advice.

  • get_changesFree

The latest releases of the atlas data files: the version to cite, which datasets changed, records added and removed, and where the dated copy of each release lives.

  • get_compoundFree

Use for "what does THC, CBD or myrcene do in the body": the full record of one mapped compound by atlas id, Cannabis Compound Database id, name or PubChem CID. A curated record gives identity and structure identifiers, every target with the action, effect, evidence grade, body structures and PubMed identifiers, the measured binding values (pKi, pIC50, pEC50) from the IUPHAR/BPS Guide to PHARMACOLOGY, the cultivars a laboratory measured it in with their sources, an evidence summary, its cautions and a ready citation. A database compound gives its identity and every measured value at a placed target with its PubMed id or DOI. Educational reference, not medical advice. No doses.

  • get_cultivarFree

Use for strain chemistry: one cultivar from the laboratory measurements the atlas uses (Cannabis Compound Database values, mg per gram of dry flower), by CCD id or name: every atlas compound measured in it with the mean, the number of values and the PubMed identifier of each source. Cultivar names are a poor guide to chemistry (PMID 35588111, PMID 39137353); never the community strain index. Educational reference, not medical advice.

  • get_targetFree

Use for receptor questions: one receptor, ion channel or enzyme by name or gene (for example CB1, CNR1, TRPV1, GPR55, FAAH, CYP3A4): what it is, where it sits in the body, the compounds mapped to it with their action, effect and evidence grade, and every measured binding or functional value with species and PubMed identifiers. Educational reference, not medical advice.

  • list_structures_for_targetFree

Use for "where in the body": the atlas body structures (organs and regions) that carry a molecular target: for CB1 and CB2 the qualitative receptor density (0 to 4, a teaching summary of the literature, not a measurement), other receptors listed for a structure, and the structures where a compound effect at this target is mapped, with the compound and its evidence grade. Educational reference, not medical advice.

  • list_trialsFree

Use for clinical trial questions: registered trials from the atlas snapshot of ClinicalTrials.gov (trials whose intervention is named cannabis, a cannabinoid, cannabidiol, THC or a related medicine): identifier, title, status, phase, enrolment, conditions, countries, start date, the atlas compounds involved and the registry link, newest snapshot first. Intervention names that state an amount are left out. Titles are third party text. Educational reference, not medical advice.

  • searchFree

Search the whole GreenCycle Compound Atlas by any name: cannabis compounds (THC, CBD, CBG, terpenes, flavonoids), receptors and enzymes (CB1, CB2, TRPV1, 5-HT1A, FAAH), medical conditions with an evidence grade (epilepsy, chronic pain, sleep) and registered clinical trials. Returns results with id, title and url; pass an id to fetch for the full sourced record. Educational reference, not medical advice.

  • search_compoundsFree

Use for lists of cannabis compounds: find the compounds mapped onto the human body (curated atlas records and database compounds with a measured, sourced value at a target placed in tissue) by name, chemical class, record type or molecular target (for example every compound acting at CB2, TRPV1, 5-HT1A or FAAH, or every terpene). Returns identity, PubChem CID, record type, targets and the atlas url. Use get_compound for one full record. Educational reference, not medical advice.

  • search_conditionsFree

Use for "does cannabis help with ...": conditions on the atlas evidence ladder (substantial, moderate, limited, insufficient, evidence of no benefit): the grade and why, the systematic reviews and trials behind it by PubMed identifier, the compounds and body structures involved and the atlas page. Trials are kept as administered in each trial; doses are left out on purpose. Educational reference, not medical advice. Not a diagnostic or dosing tool.

GreenCycle Compound Atlas MCP server

Read-only cannabis compound, receptor, body and evidence data for AI agents. Every value sourced. No key.

This repository holds the listing details of the hosted server, worked examples with real answers, and the templates to report a data error. The server runs at https://greencyclepedia.com/mcp and needs no key and no sign up.

If this helps, a star helps others find it.

Try it in 30 seconds

Ask your assistant, once connected:

  1. Which receptors and enzymes does cannabidiol act on in the atlas, with the measured binding values and their sources?
  2. Which body structures carry the CB2 receptor, and which compound effects are mapped there?
  3. List registered trials in the atlas that mention cannabidiol and are recruiting, with phase and enrolment.
