Sibyl — Deep Research MCP tools (20, 4 write)

write = sends, deletes, buys or posts

Read from the package source without running it. The installed server may list more.

  • analyze

Analyze provided text with a specific question using LLM.

  • assess_research

Record host judgment for one planned question; does not call a model.

  • cancel_researchwrite action

Cancel research and retain evidence, or explicitly delete its local checkpoint.

  • chart

Generate a price history line chart for one or more financial symbols.

  • compare

Generate a structured comparison table for 2-5 items.

  • complete_research

Save a host-authored report against a current evidence revision.

  • continue_research

Retrieve a focused query for a host job, or explicitly resume an autonomous job.

  • fetch_market_data

Fetch real financial/stock/ETF data from Yahoo Finance.

  • gather_bundle

Return a structured, keyless SourceBundle without synthesizing an answer.

  • gather_evidencewrite action

Run a bounded evidence loop while leaving planning and synthesis to the host.

  • gather_sources

Keyless web retrieval: search + scrape + dedup, returning the top FULL-TEXT sources for a query WITHOUT writing an answer — so YOU (the calling model) read the evidence and reason over it yourself.

  • get_research

Read progress, evidence, current citation numbering and report; omit ID to list jobs.

  • quick_search

Quick web search without deep analysis. Returns raw search results.

  • read_url

Read and extract clean text content from a URL.

  • researchwrite action

Run a deep research cycle on any topic.

  • save_report

Save the last research report as PDF and/or Markdown file.

  • start_researchwrite action

Create a persistent research job. Default host mode is keyless.

  • swot

Generate a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats).

  • timeline

Generate a chronological timeline of key events for a topic.

  • trends

Get Google Trends data for keywords — real search interest over time.

From a question to a traceable report

A search result is not yet a research report. Sibyl keeps the plan, searches, evidence, progress, and final report together in a bounded local research job. Your existing agent can plan and write using the keyless host-assisted mode. An experimental configured-model mode can run research in the background, including a bounded follow-up search and report-wide source-support checks.

Both modes use the same inspectable evidence pipeline. Host mode needs no model key, no search key, and no second LLM. Autonomous mode has its own model configuration and billing; it does not inherit the host's subscription.

Shortened. The full README is on GitHub.

Nothing above is checked by us. What we check is on the safety report.
